Interpreting Slavery’s goal is to prepare historic sites and museums to deliver a comprehensive and conscientious interpretation of slavery to their visitors. Through organizational consulting, interpretive planning, and workshops, we nurture competent and confident staff and organizations to share inclusive narratives of the histories and legacies of slavery in the United States.

Interpreting Slavery at Museums and Historic Sites is a comprehensive ‘how to’ manual. It can be extremely useful to any historical or cultural institution serious about improving its ability to present the topic of slavery in ways that acknowledge its foundational significance in the evolution of our nation.
